Chicago Dogs News Release

Offense came up big as the Chicago Dogs took the finale in Sioux City, 7-5.

For the second time this season, the Chicago Dogs have won the series against Sioux City. This time, on the road in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Dogs entered the game swinging, scoring two first inning runs. The team had four baserunners in the top of the first, highlighted by an RBI double from Narciso Crook.

Offense continued in the fifth inning, when cleanup Jacob Teter slugged his fifth home run of the season. The first baseman has been extremely efficient in his first season with the Dogs, batting.283 over 53 at-bats.

Sioux City bats were all over Dogs starting pitcher Jason Bilous, collecting seven hits on four runs off of the righty.

Entering the late innings of the game, the Dogs were down two runs with not a lot of baseball left. A huge eighth inning was ignited by a leadoff single from Teter. Teter's second hit of the day started a rally for the Dogs, as Dusty Stroup, Johnni Turbo, Jesus Lujano, all added hits. The big offensive innings added four runs to the scoreboard for Chicago.

Chicago's bullpen kept the team in the game tightly. Matt Walker, Andrew Peters, and Joey Marciano combined for five innings out of the pen, striking out five, only allowing one run. Peters was awarded the win, his second, while Marciano got the save, his sixth.

A total of nine hits and eight walks from Chicago's offense fueled them to a 7-5 victory over Sioux City.

After traveling many miles on the road, the Dogs will head back to Rosemont for a six game homestand against the Cleburne Railroaders.
