BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Goaltender Rick DiPietro by the Islanders. The Sound Tigers have also announced the signing of Goaltender Jim Sanca to an amateur tryout contract.
DiPietro is expected to dress as the backup goaltender when the Islanders host the Ottawa Senators tonight at 7 p.m. Sanca is expected to dress as the backup goaltender when the Sound Tigers host the Manchester Monarchs tonight at 7:05 p.m.
All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and on the Internet at www.soundtigers.com. "The ZONE" also broadcasts "The Sound Tigers Report" Tuesdays at 7 p.m., and road games air live on WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350.
