Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons announced today that the Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned left wing, Ryan Tobler to the Chicago Wolves.

Tobler has played in 11 games for the Springfield Falcons this season collecting two assists and 44 penalty minutes. Tobler played in 73 games for the Falcons last season collecting 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points and 215 penalty minutes. He was 5th on the team in goals last season and also was 2nd on the team in power play goals last year with 10.

Tampa Bay Lightning General Manager, Jay Feaster stated, "Due to a numbers problem in Springfield and the fact that AHL teams can only dress six veterans per game, we decided to reassign Ryan to Chicago. We still feel it is important that Ryan has the opportunity to continue to develop at the American Hockey League level."

The 6'3", 220-pound native of Calgary, Alberta is in his 6th season of pro hockey. Tobler has played in 161 AHL games collecting 76 points and 485 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 7, 2001 against the Florida Panthers.
