Worcester IceCats News Release

Worcester, MA- The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League today announced that they will be holding their first-ever TEDDY BEAR TOSS on Saturday, November 30th.

The Teddy Bear Toss is an exciting event in which the IceCats ask their fans to bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the 7:05 PM game against the Providence Bruins on Saturday night. When the IceCats score their first goal of the game, the bears and other animals will be tossed onto the ice as a way of celebration. The IceCats will then collect the animals and will distribute them to local children's charities and hospitals in time for the holidays.

All fans that participate in the Teddy Bear Toss will be eligible to win some great prizes, including a 1/2 carat diamond ring courtesy of Sachs Jewelers and tickets to the December 3rd game between the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins.

Prior to the start of the 2002-2003 season, the Worcester IceCats have had 1,959,070 fans pass through the turnstiles during the regular season. With 34,124 fans so far this season, the IceCats are just 6,806 shy from welcoming their 2 MILLIONTH FAN to Worcester's Centrum Centre during the regular season. Now in their ninth season in the AHL, the IceCats anticipate to surpass this major milestone on Saturday against Providence.

In other news, goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been reassigned by the St. Louis Blues to the Worcester IceCats.
