Albany Devils News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A second-period comeback by the Albany Devils was trumped by three third-period tallies by the Binghamton Senators. The end result was a 4-2 Devils loss Friday at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Tim Sestito and Eric Gelinas both scored for the Devils (27-25-6-4) and Peter Harrold registered a pair of assists. In goal, Jeff Frazee made 32 stops.

For Binghamton (24-34-2-2), Andre Petersson netted a pair of goals, including the game winner, and Craig Schira and David Dziurzynski also scored. Mike McKenna earned the win by making 32 saves.

Petersson started the scoring at 2:14 of the second period, but the Devils responded with back-to-back goals.

First, Sestito redirected a shot from Matt Anderson at 13:01 of the second while the Devils operated on the man advantage. The goal, which was Sestito's seventh of the year, began with Harrold finding Anderson at the left point.

Before the end of the period, Gelinas snapped a wrist shot through traffic and over the right shoulder of McKenna at 19:45. Harrold was credited with the primary assist and Steve Zalewski earned the second assist. The goal moved Gelinas into sole possession of the top spot for goals by an AHL defenseman with 14.

In the third, Schira's wrist shot tied the score at 1:27 and Petersson's second made it 3-1 at 5:47.

Dziurzynski capped the scoring at 14:53.

The Devils continue their trip south into Pennsylvania with a 7:00 p.m. contest Saturday against the Hershey Bears at Giant Center. Fans can follow the action on ahllive.com.
