
P-Bruins Fall to Sharks 5-2

Worcester, MA - The Providence Bruins fell to the Worcester Sharks 5-2 Friday evening at the DCU Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Josh Hennessy and Trent Whitfield. The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons for Kid's T-Shirt Night.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 1:36 mark of the opening period. Craig Cunningham had the puck and passed it off to Jamie Tardif. He sent it off to Hennessy, who picked it up and put it in the back of the net for his 17th goal of the season. Worcester tied the game at one at the 14:31 mark. Nathan Moon tallied his 11th goal of the season, while James Livingston and Tony Lucia recorded the assists. The Sharks grabbed the lead at the 16:35 mark, while on the power play. Jack Combs netted his 14th goal of the season, with Ben Guite and Mike Moore picking up the assists. Worcester led 2-1 going into the first intermission.
Providence tied the game at two at the 5:46 mark of the second period. Lane MacDermid held the puck along the boards and passed it to Colby Cohen at the blue line. He shot the puck towards the net where it went off the body of Whitfield and into the net for his sixth goal of the season. The game went into the second intermission tied at two.
Worcester retook the lead at the 11:19 mark of the third period. Brian O'Hanley scored his second goal of the season, while John McCarthy and Brandon Mashinter had the assists. The Sharks made it 4-2 at the 17:14 mark. Marek Viedensky tallied his fifth goal of the season, while Livingston got the lone assist. Worcester finished off the scoring with an empty net goal at the 19:49 mark. Lucia netted his eighth goal of the season, while Livingston grabbed the lone assist. The Sharks went onto the 5-2 victory.
Michael Hutchinson stopped 28 of 32 shots for the P-Bruins, while Tyson Sexsmith made 21 saves for the Sharks. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 0-for-1 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins return to The Dunk Sunday for Kid's T-Shirt Night presented by Dunkin' Donuts, Seekonk Supply and East Coast Embroidery at 4:05 p.m. against the Falcons.
