Crunch Sign Gabe Guentzel to ATO

Syracuse, NY (March 16, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the club has signed defenseman Gabe Guentzel to an amateur tryout contract.

Guentzel, 23, played four seasons at Colorado College collecting 94 points (16g, 78a) in 156 NCAA games. A native of Woodbury, Minnesota, the defenseman earned WCHA All-Academic honors (2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12) and was named to the WCHA Second All-Star team for the 2011-12 season. Prior to attending Colorado College, Guentzel played with the Sioux Falls Stampede (2007-08) of the USHL and Southern Minnesota Express (2006-07) of the NAHL.

The Crunch will return home to face Rochester at the War Memorial on March 16.
