12th Annual Admirals MDA Jersey Auction Next Weekend

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals hockey team and PAPCO will present the 12th annual MDA Jersey Auction to benefit the Hampton Roads Muscular Dystrophy Association next Saturday, March 24, after the Admirals game against the Albany Devils.

The Admirals will don one-of-a-kind jerseys for Saturday's game. Immediately following the game, a live auction will take place on the ice with the jerseys sold right off the players' backs. Fans may get a preview of the jerseys at norfolkadmirals.com.

Over the past 11 seasons, the Admirals have been able to raise $306,465 for MDA through the annual jersey auction.

Admirals players and MDA representatives will be available for media appearances to show the jerseys and talk about the auction all next week (3/19 - 3/22). Please contact Admirals Director of Media Relations Keith Phillips at (757) 640-1212 ext. 12 to schedule an appearance or interview.

The Admirals are also offering discounted fundraising tickets for the game. Tickets are just $10 with $2 of each ticket going back to the local MDA. The Hampton Roads MDA office helps children and adults who are affected by any of 43 neuromuscular diseases by providing services such as: clinic visits, Physical, Occupational, Respiratory & Speech therapy visits, wheelchair & equipment repair funding, flu shots (could be life threatening for a patient with MD), ongoing research and our annual MDA camp at the 4H campgrounds in Wakefield, VA for children ages 6-17. MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees to those served by the Association.
