
Dennis Bonvie appears in 800th AHL game

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Dennis Bonvie became just the 27th player in American Hockey League history to appear in 800 games by suiting up for Friday night's contest with the Binghamton Senators.
Bonvie, the AHL's all-time leader in penalty minutes (4,228 entering Friday night's game), moved into a tie with Dave Creighton for 26th place on the league's all-time list by facing the Senators. He has recorded 265 points (82+183) while suiting up for the Penguins, Hershey Bears, Hamilton Bulldogs, Binghamton Senators, Providence Bruins, Portland Pirates, Philadelphia Phantoms and Cape Breton Oilers, including one goal scored in game #800.
The game was also the 214th in a Penguins sweater for Bonvie, moving him past Martin Sonnenberg for 13th place on the team's all-time list. He trails Toby Petersen by one game and Matt Murley by two.
Bonvie is the Penguins' all-time leader in career penalty minutes with 1,019, and owns the team's single season record with 431 penalty minutes recorded last season.
Bonvie has also appeared in 92 National Hockey League games with the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche during his 14-year career, recording three points (1+2) and 311 penalty minutes.
