Red Wings loan Brooks to Moose; Keefe Traded to Griffins

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have acquired forward Brendan Brooks on loan from the Detroit Red Wings. The Moose also announced they have traded forward Adam Keefe to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Brooks, 28, has appeared in 51 games so far this season with the Griffins where he has scored nine goals and eight assists for 17 points and 44 penalty minutes. In his nine-year pro career, the St. Catherines, ON native has appeared in 255 career games in the AHL with Lowell, Manchester, Worcester, Peoria, and Grand Rapids. He has 49 goals and 48 assists for 97 points and 178 penalty minutes. In 193 career games in the ECHL, Brooks has 79 goals and 74 assists for 153 points and 293 penalty minutes.

Keefe, 22, appeared in 22 games with the Moose this season after suffering a knee injury during training camp. The Kingston, ON native scored two goals and two assists for four points and 91 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in eight games with the ECHL's Victoria Salmon Kings and collected 27 penalty minutes. In 31 games with the Moose last year, the Kingston ON native scored three goals and two assists for five points, and was the team's penalty minute leader with 158 penalty minutes.
