
Dallas Trade Sends One to Iowa Stars

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced this afternoon that the Dallas Stars (NHL) have acquired Center Shane Endicott from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations. The Dallas Stars then loaned the 25-year-old to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Iowa.
A native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Endicott has appeared in 26 games for the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and nine games with the Portland Pirates (AHL) this season, posting two goals, four assists and 22 penalty minutes: 35(2/4/6)22. He was acquired by Portland's NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for Chris Durno on January 26th, 2007.
Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins with their second choice, 52nd overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-3, 214-pound centerman skated in four NHL games with Pittsburgh in 2001-02 and 41 during the 2005-06 season. His NHL totals reflect 45 games, one goal, two assists and 47 penalty minutes: 45(1/2/3)47. The left-handed shooter has played in 327 career AHL games, collecting 75 goals and 97 assists for 172 points with 297 penalty minutes: 327(75/97/172)297.
Also today, the Iowa Stars have recalled forward J.B. Bittner from their ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads. Bittner was then immediately loaned to the Augusta (Georgia) Lynx of the ECHL. Bittner, began the 2006-2007 season with the Lynx, where he tallied 11 goals and 19 assists in 30 games: 30(11/19/30). While with Idaho, he recorded six goals and four assists in 12 games with the Steelheads. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native was scoreless in five games with Iowa and two games with the Portland Pirates this year. He was originally acquired by Iowa in exchange for Greg Amadio on January 1st, 2007.
IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars play Houston again on Friday evening and then play Sunday/Tuesday games in San Antonio against the Rampage. Iowa then returns home for two games: Thursday, March 1st against the Peoria Rivermen and Saturday, March 3rd against the San Antonio Rampage. The Hobey Baker Award, awarded annually to College Hockey's Top Player, will be on hand Thursday night. The Stars currently boast two former Hobey Baker Award Winners: Junior Lessard (2004) and Marty Sertich (2005). Thursday is also a 4 for $40 Night. Purchase four $21 tickets for just $40. Saturday night is Krys Barch Bobblehead Night. The first 3,500 fans will receive a bobblehead of Iowa Stars/current Dallas Stars Forward Krys Barch. It is also Boy Scout Night.
