Dayton Takes 3-2 Shootout Victory Over Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Dayton Bombers on Saturday night at U.S. Bank Arena. The Bombers got goals from Joe Cullen and Yannick Tifou in the shootout to provide the difference in the contest.

The Cyclones opened the scoring when forward Jason Deitsch netted his sixth goal of the season at the 4:15 mark, Rory Rawlyk and Jon Gleed picked up the assists.

The scoring explosion in this contest took place in the second period when Cincinnati's Torry Gajda netted the Cyclones second goal of the night at 1:10 with Jean-Michel Daoust collecting the assist.

Dayton responded with a pair of goals after that to knot the game at 2-2 through the second period. Tim Konsorada tallied his fifth of the season at 4:09 and Jeff Szwez collected his third of the season-all against Cincinnati-at 16:47.

Neither team scored in the third period, or the overtime. Cincinnati goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris turned aside 35 shots in the game. Adam Berkhoel stopped 33 shots for Dayton.in the victory.

Cincinnati extends its unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1), as it played its first overtime game this season.

The Cyclones improve to 8-8-1, fifth in the division. Cincinnati travels to Reading on Wednesday for a 6:30pm clash. The game will be carried on the team's website www.cycloneshockey.com. Dayton is now 7-5-1 and sits in seventh place in the North Division.
