Chiefs trump Royals 3-2 in shootout

Johnstown, PA - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Reading Royals 3-2 in a shootout at the Cambria County War Memorial.

After a scoreless first period, Johnstown's Grant Jacobsen tallied a goal at 11:08 with Maxime Boisclair and Randy Rowe assisting. Reading's Dany Roussin answered back, scoring with a quick shot from the hash mark off a pass from James Hiebert at 18:44 in the second. James Hiebert scored on a shot from behind the goal line to make it 2-1 at 19:59 of the second.

In the third period, Johnstown's Bryan Nathe took a pass from Doug Andress and fired a shot from the low slot past Reading goalie Ryan Munce at 13:52, tying the game at two.

Morgan Cey made five saves in overtime, leading the Chiefs into a shootout for the second consecutive night, where he stopped all five Reading shooters. Gus Katsuras scored the shootout winner for Johnstown on the backhand.
