South Carolina Stingrays News Release
N. Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Pensacola Ice Pilots play tonight at the North Charleston Coliseum. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
The Stingrays and Ice Pilots have met once this season down in Pensacola with the Rays coming away with a 4-3 overtime victory. Jamie Fraser led the scoring effort in that game with one goal and two assists and Brendan Bernakevitch had two goals in the game, including the game winner.
This season the Ice Pilots are 4-11-1-1 for 10 points and eighth in the South division. They are currently on a one-game winning streak after their victory last night against Charlotte which brings them to 3-6-0 when on the road.
The Stingrays have hit a bit of a slump at the end of November. They are currently in a four-game losing streak and have lost the last seven in a row at home. The team last played on Nov. 26 in Charlotte in a 4-6 loss. Overall, the Stingrays are 8-9-2 for 18 points and sixth in the division. Tonight the Stingrays will welcome back Matt W. Reid who has missed the last ten games due to injury.
Fans, don't forget to bring in your new, unwrapped teddy bears for the Live 5 Teddy Bear Toss for Debbie's Kids which will take place after the Stingrays score their first goal. Fans are also invited to stop by the "Street Rodin' with the Rays" competition presented by Advance Auto Parts to judge their favorite cars. In exchange for the judge sheets, fans will receive $5 off any purchase at Advance Auto Parts.
Doors open tonight at 5:30 p.m. for season ticket holders and 6 p.m. for the general public. Listen to the game live with Mike Kelly, Voice of the Rays, on the Real 1340 or online at www.stingrayshockey.com. STINGRAYS HOCKEY - A WHOLE LOT COOLER!
