David Kolomatis Signed to ATO

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that defenseman David Kolomatis has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. Kolomatis' first action for Providence will mark his professional debut. With the move, the P-Bruins have 28 players on their roster, including 15 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders.

Kolomatis, 20, joins Providence following three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Owen Sound Attack. The blue-liner captained the Attack in 2008-09 and finished 12th among OHL defensemen with a career-high 46 points, including a personal-best 18 goals in 63 contests. Kolomatis had previously set individual peaks with 68 games played, 36 assists and 68 penalty minutes during the 2007-08 campaign.

An undrafted native of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Kolomatis posted eight multiple-point outings this year, as well as two seven-game point-streaks. He later recorded his first career junior playoff points with two goals and two assists in Owen Sound's four-game first round loss to the Windsor Spitfires. In three seasons with the Attack, Kolomatis scored 111 points (31g, 80a) with 174 PIM in 198 games.
