PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League that defenseman Danny Syvret has been named a First Team AHL All-Star. Voting was conducted by AHL coaches, players and media in each of the league's 29 member cities.

Syvret has posted 12 goals and 39 assists for 51 points, placing him second in scoring among AHL defensemen this season. Twenty-nine of those 51 points have come on the power play. A fourth-year pro, Syvret had never tallied more than four goals or 20 points in a season. The 23-year-old from Burlington, Ont., had eclipsed his career high in both categories by the end of November and currently ranks second among AHL backliners in points and fifth in goals. Drafted in 2005, Syvret appeared in the AHL All-Star Classic in January and suited up for two games with the Flyers in March.

Below are the entire AHL First and Second All-Star Teams.

The Phantoms are currently in Norfolk, where they play the Admirals on Friday and Saturday nights. They then return home to play the Admirals on Sunday when the Phantoms induct Peter White into the Phantoms Hall of Fame. Also on Sunday, the first 5,000 fans will receive ice from the Spectrum courtesy of Wachovia.

There are just two regular season games remaining at the Wachovia Spectrum. Adult tickets are just $10 and kids tickets just $5 for the remainder of the 2008-09 season. Tickets are going fast for the final game on Friday, April 10 against the Hershey Bears. Tickets are available through ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200, at the Wachovia Complex box office or online at Phantomshockey.com.
