
Danish & Vieira Promoted to Chicago, Burr & Cordell Promoted to Charlotte

RHP Tyler Danish had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox today. Danish posted a 1-3 record with a 3.06 ERA in 29 games (two starts) for the Charlotte Knights this season (64.2 IP).
RHP Thyago Vieira, who represented the Knights at the 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game, was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today, his second promotion of the season. For the season, Vieira is 0-4 with six saves and a 5.05 ERA in 36 games (41.0 IP) with the Knights.
OF Ryan Cordell has been promoted back to the Charlotte Knights. The 26-year-old, who was placed on Charlotte's disabled list on April 17th, was activated off the team's DL on July 23rd and assigned to Double-A Birmingham that day. In three games with the Barons, Cordell hit .333 (4-for-12) with one home run and three RBIs. A member of Chicago's 40-man roster, Cordell has appeared in 10 games this season with the Knights and is hitting .132 (2-for-38).
RHP Ryan Burr has also been promoted to the Charlotte Knights today. Burr posted a 4-2 record with two saves and a 2.72 ERA in 30 games for the Double-A Birmingham Barons this season. A native of Highlands Ranch, CO, Burr was acquired by the Chicago White Sox on August 11, 2017 in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In six games with Winston-Salem (High-A) last season after the trade, Burr went 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in six games (8.1 IP).
For the season, the Knights have now promoted 17 players to the Chicago White Sox. Those 17 players, along with the date(s) of their promotion, are as follows: RHP Bruce Rondon (April 8), RHP Chris Volstad (April 12), RHP Gregory Infante (April 21), RHP Chris Beck (April 23), OF Daniel Palka (April 24), RHP Juan Minaya (April 28, June 5, and June 13), RHP Dylan Covey (April 28 & May 19), LHP Jace Fry (May 4), INF José RondÃÅn (May 5 & May 19), OF Charlie Tilson (May 24), C Alfredo González (May 24), INF Matt Skole (May 28), C Kevan Smith (June 5), LHP Xavier Cedeño (June 7), RHP Thyago Vieira (June 22 & July 27), RHP Jeanmar GÃÅmez (July 11), and RHP Tyler Danish (July 27). Last season, 22 players earned a promotion from Charlotte to Chicago.
