ABOUT THE INTIMIDATORS: Kannapolis (31-43), the Chicago White Sox' Low-A affiliate, makes its second trip to Appalachian Power Park after they swept West Virginia back in May. The four-game series will be the final meetings between the Intimidators and Power in 2019 since West Virginia does not make a trip to Kannapolis. The Northern Division foe is led by All-Stars Ian Dawkins and Johan Dominguez, who both strung together impressive first halves. Dawkins has emerged as one of the top leadoff hitters in the league this season, holding a .324 average, third-best in the league, with two homers and 24 RBI. Dominguez has been a solid option on the hill for the Intimidators, boasting a 3-3 record with a 2.05 ERA despite making a shift from the bullpen to the starting rotation in early May.

ABOUT THE CRAWDADS: Hickory (46-26), the Texas Rangers' Low-A affiliate, will make its first and only trip to Charleston this season after the two teams met in Hickory before the All-Star Break. The Crawdads took two of three from the Power in their inaugural June series. This year's SAL Home Run Derby champion Curtis Terry will not return to Appalachian Power Park, as he was promoted to the High-A Down East Wood Ducks on June 21. However, the Crawdads' three other Midseason All-Stars Yerry Rodriguez, Pedro Gonzalez and Jonathan Ornelas, will make the trip back to Charleston after having significant impacts on Hickory's first half. Rodriguez holds the league's lowest qualified ERA at 1.77 through 11 starts, while Gonzalez ranks sixth in the league with 13 homers and 43 runs scored. Ornelas, meanwhile, has posted a serviceable .267/.332/.401 slash line in 58 games this year.
