
Dallas Stars Sign Mathieu Tousignant To Entry-Level Contract

Frisco, TX - The Dallas Stars announced on Wednesday that the hockey club has signed centers Mathieu Tousignant and Tomas Vincour each to three-year entry level contracts.
Tousignant (pronounced Too-sin-yeh), 20, is currently playing for the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League. The St. Etienne-de-Lauzon, Quebec native, has three goals and three assists in 37 games this season. Tousignant played with the Stars' team that competed at the 2009 Traverse City prospects tournament in September, where he finished tied for the team-lead with three goals (3-0-3) in four games.
The 6-0, 185-pound center also spent 20 games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL this season, collecting 17 points (6g, 11a) in 20 games. He played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), accumulating 59 goals and 117 assists for 176 points in 202 games with Baie-Comeau, Prince Edward Island and Chicoutimi
Vincour, 19, was Dallas' fifth round selection (129th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The Czech Republic native is currently in the playoffs with Vancouver of the Western Hockey League (WHL), scoring one goal in three games thus far. Vincour recently completed his regular season in the WHL, appearing in a combined 57 games between Edmonton and Vancouver and earning 29 goals and 19 assists for 48 points with a +6 rating.
The 6-2, 203-pound center was also part of the Stars' team at the 2009 Traverse City prospects tournament, finishing tied for second with Tousignant for the team lead in points (1g, 2a). Vincour amassed 62 goals and 61 assists for 123 points in 236 games over three seasons in the WHL, and also represented the Czech Republic in both the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Championships.
Texas will continue its seven-game road trip in Chicago on Friday, March 25th at 7:30 PM. Texas returns home for the State Farm Lone Star Face-off at Cedar Park Center, starting on Friday, April 2nd as the Stars take on the San Antonio Rampage at 7:00 PM. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Texas Stars puck, compliments of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. Also on Friday, Cedar Park Center will provide $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. The State Farm Lone Star Face-off continues on Saturday, April 3rd when they host the Houston Aeros at 7:00 PM. The first 2,000 fans receive a Texas Stars camouflage hat. Also, fans may purchase the State Farm Lone Star Family Four Pack, which includes four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for $44.
State Farm and the Texas Stars will televise the State Farm Lone Star Face-off on Saturday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM on FSN Southwest. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM "The Horn" or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
