GLENS FALLS, NY-River Rats leading scorer Jerome Samson scored his first career hat trick to lead Albany to a 5-1 victory over the Adirondack Phantoms in Game 10 of the Time Warner Cable Cup series on Wednesday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Albany scored twice in each period to improve to 8-1-0-1 against the Phantoms this season. Samson also chipped in an assist for a four point night, Steven Goertzen recorded two assists and Zac Dalpe scored his first career professional goal, as the River Rats improved to 5-0-0-0 this season in Glens Falls.

Jon Matsumoto brought the Phantoms back to within three goals in the final 10 seconds of the middle frame with a shorthanded breakaway tally.
