Bridgeport, CT - (March 24, 2010) - Former Crunch players Mark Flood, Greg Mauldin and Jeremy Reich each scored a goal, Brett Motherwell notched three assists and goaltender Scott Munroe made 32 saves on 34 shots for Bridgeport, handing the Crunch their fourth straight loss by a 5-2 score at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

Charlie Kronschnabel and Evan McGrath each lit the lamp for the Crunch in the losing effort.

The Crunch allowed the first goal for the third straight game when Motherwell's pass was tipped by the stick of Maksim Mayorov, but right to Reich, and he quickly shot a puck just inside the far post past Dan Taylor to put Bridgeport up 1-0 on the power play at the 14-minute mark of the first.

Bridgeport made it 2-0 just four and a half minutes later with another power play score when Flood found a loose puck in the slot and whizzed it past Taylor.

The Sound Tigers carried their momentum into second stanza when Jesse Joensuu flew in down the left wing and slipped a sharp-angle shot by Taylor to make it 3-0 just 1:45 into the period.

Bridgeport blew the game open and went up 4-0 just over two minutes later when Tyler Haskins found Micheal Haley in the slot and he quickly snapped a shot that beat Taylor to the short side and chased him from the game in favor of Kevin Lalande.

The Crunch finally got on the board with their second shorthanded goal in as many games and 15th of the season when Kronschnabel intercepted Munroe's clearing attempt and fired the puck into the half-empty cage to cut it to 4-1 with 11 minutes left in the second.

Mauldin put Bridgeport up 5-1 when he finished off a tic-tac-toe play and one-timed a shot past Lalande from the left side at the 16:38 mark of the second.

McGrath capped the game's scoring just under three minutes into the third period when he took a drop pass from Trevor Frischmon and picked the top corner of the net for his 10th of the year and second as a member of the Crunch.

CRUNCHABLES: The Crunch have lost seven of their last eight games and scored just 14 goals over that span...The Crunch now have 15 shorthanded goals...The club record for shorties in a season is 19, set during the 2002-03 season.
