River Rats Assign Forwards Pistilli & McNicoll To Florida

ALBANY, NY-The Albany River Rats announced today that the club has reassigned rookie forwards Matthew Pistilli and Cedric McNicoll to the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Pistilli, 21, has eight points (five goals, three assists) in 41 games in his first professional season with Albany. The Montreal, Quebec native has also scored a goal and an assist (two points) in six ECHL games with Florida. Pistilli (6'2", 219 lbs.) signed a three-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on May 20, 2009 after completing a four-year Junior career with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

McNicoll, 21, has two goals in seven games with Albany since being acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes from the Colorado Avalanche on March 2nd. Before joining Albany, the Longueuil, Quebec native had five goals and eight assists (13 points) in the first 45 games of his rookie season with the Lake Erie Monsters, while also scoring four points (one goal, three assists) in three games with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL). McNicoll (5'10", 178 lbs.) was signed by Colorado as an undrafted free agent on March 6, 2009, after scoring 104 points (38g, 66a) in 65 games during his final season of junior hockey with Shawinigan (QMJHL).
