Dallas Stars Reassign Three to Idaho Steelheads

CEDAR PARK, Texas â The Texas Stars, American Hockey League Affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced that forward Yauheni Aksiantsiuk, defenseman Dawson Barteaux, and goaltender Adam Scheel have been reassigned by the Dallas Stars from Texas to the club's ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
Aksiansiuk, 20, has yet to make his season debut in the 2021-22 season. He registered six points (3-3=6) in 31 games with Yunost Minsk of the Belarusian Extraliga in 2020-21 and also posted five points (4-1=5) in 13 postseason games, helping Yunost Minsk win the Belarusian Extraliga championship. The 2020 Dallas draft pick led Flint in the OHL during the 2019-20 season with 78 points (33-45=78) in 58 games.
Barteaux, 21, made his pro debut last season with the Stars and played 25 AHL games, logging a goal and an assist. The blue-liner from Foxwarren, Manitoba turned pro after posting 19 points (3-16=19) in 23 WHL games with the Winnipeg Ice in the 2019-20 season. He previously spent four full seasons in the WHL where he logged 112 points (20-92=112) in 236 games with Winnipeg, Red Deer, and Regina.
Scheel, 22, played 12 games for the Stars at the end of the 2020-21 season, earning a 4-7-1 record, 3.06 GAA, and .912 SV%. The rookie goaltender put together an impressive resume at the University of North Dakota where he logged a 20-4-1 record, with four shutouts, a 1.74 GAA, and .931 SV% in 2019-20. He finished his collegiate career with a 52-18-5 record, seven shutouts, a school record 1.95 GAA, and .916 SV% in 78 career appearances.
The Stars hit the road for the first time this year to face the Tucson Roadrunners. The weekend schedule at Tucson Arena begins on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 9:00 PM CT.
