D-Fenders Acquire Jeff Ayres

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired forward Jeff Ayres from the Idaho Stampede in exchange for the D-Fenders own 2016 first round draft pick, it was announced today by General Manager Nick Mazzella. The trade is contingent on physicals.

Ayres has appeared in 225 career NBA games for the Trail Blazers, Pacers, Spurs and Clippers, with career averages of 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.9 minutes. The 2016 NBA D-League All-Star has seen action in 25 games (23 starts) for the Idaho Stampede this season, tallying 16.2 points (55.8 FG%), 9.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 32.4 minutes.

In 126 career games at Arizona State (2005-09), Ayres averaged 12.6 points (58.0 FG%), 7.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Ayres earned First Team All-Pac-10 honors as a senior, scoring 14.5 points and grabbing 8.2 rebounds per game. Ayres shot 66.0% from the field as a senior, tops in the NCAA.
