Cyclones Lose Pair To American Hockey League

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones have had a pair of players move to American Hockey League teams the club has learned this afternoon The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Forward Mark Santorelli has been recalled by the Milwaukee Admirals, while defenseman Joe Ryan was activated from the injured reserve list and loaned to the Toronto Marlies.

Santorelli, 20, appeared in four games with the Cyclones and did not register a point. A fourth round draft choice of Nashville in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, he netted 101 points with Chilliwack (WHL). The 6-foot-1, 185 pound forward scored 82 goals, 181 assists and collected 263 points in his four year junior career.

Ryan, 20, a second round draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, played in 20 games with the Cyclones and had a goal and seven assists for eight points. The 6-foot-1, 204 pound rearguard was a member of the Quebec Ramparts (QMJHL) 2006 squad that captured the Memorial Cup.

Santorelli and Ryan are the eighth and ninth players this season to have played with the Cyclones and been recalled, assigned or have spent time in the AHL this season. Last year, a total of 22 players were recalled, loaned or spent time in the AHL-as Cincinnati advanced to the Kelly Cup championship.

Cincinnati (11-9-4) is fourth in the North Division of the American Conference. The Cyclones host Wheeling tomorrow night (December 12) in a 7:30pm clash. It is Teddy Bear Toss and Fire and Police Appreciation Night. Fan are encouraged to bring new and gently loved stuffed animals and throw them on the ice after the Cyclones first goal. The Animals are collected and donated to the Shriners. Saturday (December 13), is David Desharnais Bobblehead Night.
