Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Goaltender Marek Schwarz has been re-assigned by St. Louis to Peoria, who won in Hamilton tonight.

On Tuesday, the Blues re-assigned goalie Chris Holt, who stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 6-0 shutout of Bakersfield Saturday, to the Rivermen. Holt posted a 3-2 record in five starts for Alaska to go along with a 1.80 goals against average and a .946 save percentage. Holt became Peoria's starter tonight against the Bulldogs when Manny Legace was injured for St. Louis in Wednesday's game against Anaheim and Ben Bishop was re-called by the Blues to complement Chris Mason. With Schwarz backing him up tonight, Holt stopped 24 shots for a 2-1 victory, running his record to 3-0 with the Rivermen and 6-2 on the season.

Schwarz, the 17th overall pick of the 2004 NHL Draft who led the Aces to a first round sweep of Idaho in the first round of the 2008 playoffs, could see action at Rochester Friday or in Cleveland on Sunday against the Lake Erie Monsters. With this departure, Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, who ranks second in the ECHL with 11 wins, should start all three games against Idaho this weekend at Sullivan Arena, with Jeff Barney backing him up on an emergency basis.
