Charlotte Checkers News Release
Charlotte, N.C. - In conjunction with ECHL officials, Charlotte Checkers COO Tera Black announced today the final changes for the Checkers schedule for the 2008-09 season.
Due to the suspension of operations of the Augusta Lynx, the Checkers and ECHL officials worked together in order to adapt the season schedule for the team. Some of the changes consist of new home dates including Sunday, Dec. 28th against the Florida Everblades at 4:00 p.m. Also, the Checkers will play host to the Everblades on Thursday, Feb. 19th at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 22nd at 4:00 p.m.
Home games that are no longer on the schedule include Thursday, Jan. 8th and Thursday, March 12th which were both scheduled against the Lynx.
The results of the schedule change will not alter the 36 home games for Charlotte at Time Warner Cable Arena but will decrease the number of road games by one to 35. For complete date and opponent changes, please log onto www.gocheckers.com for information.
