Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that forward Patrick Bordeleau has been signed to a contract and that defenseman Ryan McGinnis has been recalled to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
Bordeleau comes to the Everblades after beginning the season with the Augusta Lynx who last week ceased operations. The 22-year-old had 10 points (4g, 6a) and 57 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Lynx. Following the cease of operations by the Lynx, the 6-foot-6, 220 pound winger skated in three games with the Albany River Rats where he notched one assist and 14 PIM.
Bordeleau debuted in the pro ranks last year, seeing action with three ECHL teams. The Montreal, Quebec native played a total of 51 games last season recording 24 points (8g, 16a) and 71 PIM with Charlotte, Wheeling and Pensacola. Prior to turning pro the former 4th round draft pick by the Minnesota Wild in 2004 spent four seasons at the junior level with Val d'Or, Drummondville and Acadie-Bathurst of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
McGinnis becomes the latest Everblade to be recalled joining Ross Carlson, Jonathan Paiement, David Leggio, Jacob Micflikier, Riley Emmerson and Harrison Reed as players still in the AHL. McGinnis head to the River Rats with two points in 16 games with Florida this year.
