Cutters salvage finale with Muckdogs

Thursday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field the Cutters salvaged the finale of their 3-game series with the Batavia Muckdogs winning 9-1.

Already up 2-0 in the bottom of the third Cord Sandberg drew a one out walk. Jiandido Tromp singled to right field followed by a Wilson Garcia double to left field scoring Sandberg and the Cutters led 3-0.

Rhys Hoskins then walked to load the bases and Wilmer Oberto hit a bases clearing double to center field scoring Tromp, Garcia and Hoskins and the Cutters led 6-0 after three innings.

Cutters starting pitcher Ricardo Pinto (1-3) picked up his first win of the season going six innings allowing one run on four hits, two walks and three strikeouts.

The Cutters added on late with a 3-run eighth inning powered by Wilmer Oberto's first home run in a Crosscutters uniform. He was followed by Deivi Grullon who walked and Robinson Torres singled to right center. Two batters later Cord Sandberg delivered a two out, two run single that scored both runners to make the final 9-1 Cutters.
