
Curry Recalled to Iowa, Chubak Loaned to Orlando

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that G John Curry has been recalled to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Iowa Wild, and G Carsen Chubak has been loaned to the Solar Bears by the Adirondack Phantoms.
Curry has played in seven games for the Solar Bears this season, earning a 6-1-0 record with a 2.52 GAA and .920 save percentage. He was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for November 4-10 when he posted a 2-0-0 record, 2.00 GAA, and .943 save percentage. In his Solar Bears career, Curry has compiled a 23-12-2 record with a 2.75 GAA and .912 save percentage.
The native of Shorewood, MN, has played 178 games in the American Hockey League, earning a 2.48 GAA and .908 save percentage to go along with a 103-59-7 record. In 2010-11 as a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Curry played in the AHL All-Star Game and won the "Harry Holmes" trophy for best goaltending duo in the league. He has played four games in the NHL, collecting a 2-2-0 record.
Chuback (5-11, 170 lbs.) has played two games for the Greenville Road Warriors (ECHL) this season, his first as a pro, going 1-1-0 with a 3.50 GAA and .894 save percentage. He spent the last three seasons (2010-2013) with Niagara University (NCAA), finishing with a career record of 27-11-6 with a 2.16 GAA and .930 save percentage. During his final season with Niagara, the Prince Albert, SK, native went 23-7-5 with a 1.91 GAA and .939 save percentage. That season, he was selected as a First Team All-Star, won the AHA Conference Player of the Year Award, helped Niagara to a the AHA Regular Season Championship, and was a "Hobey Baker" finalist for the top player in NCAA hockey.
