AVON, OH - The Lake Erie Crushers put up 14 runs and 17 hits in the first four innings and cruised to a 15-4 victory over the Florence Freedom Thursday night at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Florence's loss snapped their four game winning streak and brought the Freedom back to .500 at 27-27.

Jordan Towns (1-4) took the loss for the Freedom as he was taken out in the second inning with only one out. The right-hander allowed seven runs on seven hits. Paul Fagan went six innings for the Crushers as he improved to a Frontier League best 9-1.

The Freedom bullpen that followed Towns didn't enjoy any better fortunes, Todd Schlenkerman and David Odquist combined to go 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven more runs.

Tim Grogan tied the game up at two in the top of the second inning for the Freedom with a two-run home run. Grogan's eighth of the season came after Andrew Davis hit a two-run dinger for the Crushers in the bottom of the first.

Lake Erie then put up six runs in the second inning and was never caught again.

Justin Pickett and Jay Johnson both hit solo homers for the Freedom to round out the Florence offensive. For Pickett, it was his fourth home run at All Pro Freight Stadium in four games.

The Crushers took control of the season series 4-3 over the Freedom with the win. The two teams will be back at it Friday night with the first pitch coming at 7:05 p.m. from Avon, Ohio.
