
ThunderBolts Sign Local Outfielder

The Windy City ThunderBolts are excited to announce the signing of Blue Island native and Eisenhower HS grad Marcus Spencer.
Marcus played this past spring at Alabama A&M in Huntsville, AL. For the Bulldogs in 2009, Spencer hit .305 with a team leading seven homers and 25 RBI. He also led the AA&M with four triples and stole seven bases.
Spencer burst onto the scene for the Bulldogs in 2006 as a redshirt-freshman hitting .343 with eight RBI in 15 games. Over his four year career, the outfielder hit .267 with 12 homers and 61 RBI.
At Eisenhower, Spencer was an All-SICA conference player in 2004.
The ThunderBolts and River City Rascals start a three game series on Thursday night at Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 start. During the series the ThunderBolts will welcome the 800,000th fan in franchise history into the ballpark. The lucky fan will receive a pair of 2010 season tickets, a hat and t-shirt from the ThunderStore and will have the opportunity to throw out a first pitch at 2009 ThunderBolts regular season home game.
