Cox Joins Roster

(Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that RHP J.B Cox has been transferred from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple-A) to Trenton. OF Richard Robnett has been signed by the Yankees and assigned to Trenton.

Cox has made 12 appearances (one start) for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Triple-A) this season, and was 0-1 with a 7.08 ERA and one save. In 2008, the right-hander appeared in five games for Trenton and went 0-0 with a 1.35 ERA. He spent most of the season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and was 5-4 with a 4.75 ERA in 28 games. He spent the 2007 season on the disabled list after having right elbow surgery. In 2006, The Bay City, Texas native made 41 appearances and had a 6-2 record and a 1.75 ERA with three saves. Cox was drafted in the second round of the 2005 Draft out of the University of Texas.

Robnett has appeared in a combined 38 games this season for the Cubs organization between Tennessee (Double-A) and Iowa (Triple-A). In the Southern League for Tennessee, Robnett appeared in 30 games and batted .184 with two home runs and eight RBI. The Santa Monica. California native only appeared in eight games for Iowa and batted .143 with one RBI. The 5-foot-10 left-hander was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2004 draft. Trenton and Binghamton begin a four-game series tonight from Waterfront Park. RHP Ivan Nova (4-3, 3.12) will start for Trenton. LHP Mike Antonini (4-1, 5.47) will start for Binghamton.
