Senators Hit Six Home Runs to Top the R-Phils 11-0

On Friday night in Reading the Senators continued their recent hot hitting with an 11-0 pounding of the Reading Phillies. In the last two games the Sens have scored 27 runs on 34 hits while giving up just two runs. Friday night was the fifth shutout in the past ten games for the Sens.

Carlos Martinez pitched eight shutout innings allowing just three hits while striking out give. It is the third straight quality start for Carlos Martinez.

Offensively the Sens pounded out a season high six home runs highlighted by the second grand slam of the season off the bat of Luke Montz. Ricardo Nanita, Leonard Davis, Bill Rhinehart, Ofilio Castro, and Ian Desmond all hit solo home runs in the game.

Davis, Castro, and Nanita all had three hits in the game while Desmond, Montz, and Rhinehart had two hits each.

Game two of the four-game series is Saturday night at 6:35pm with LH Cory VanAllen on the mound.
