For the fourth time in as many games, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Elmira Jackals. Tonight is the fifth of nine meetings between the teams. On the season, the K-Wings are 2-2-0-0 versus the Jackals and are 1-1-0-0 in games played at the First Arena.

Starting their season-high six-game road swing with a 6-3 loss last night, the K-Wings have fallen into a third place tie in the North Division with the Toledo Walleye. With 29 points, the K-Wings are four points behind the Cincinnati Cyclones for second place.

After recording three victories for the entire month of December, the Jackals have started January with back-to-back wins. Elmira used four power-play goals en route to last night's win. Prior to yesterday, Elmira had recorded one power-play goal and surrendered three shorthanded goals in three games against Kalamazoo.

Earlier today, forward Brady Leisenring was loaned to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. So far this season, Leisenring has earned 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 19 games this season with Kalamazoo.

Jurynec Returns

Forward Bryan Jurynec has been activated off the K-Wings 3-Day IR. Tonight's game will be the 100th in Jurynec's professional career.

On a Roll

A change of scenery has done forward Aaron Clarke well. Clarke has earned points in all three games he has played for Kalamazoo.

So far this season, when opponents keep Kory Karlander off the score sheet, the K-Wings have not been successful. Kalamazoo is 0-8-0-1 when Karlander is held without a point.
