Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, GA - Rookie forward Justin Milo had the best game of his professional career, and the Gladiators hung on late for a 3-2 win over the first-place Greenville Road Warriors Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Milo scored the first goal of his pro career at the Arena at Gwinnett Center back on December 3rd as a member of the South Carolina Stingrays, and Saturday logged the first multi-goal game of his young career in the same building.

The Gladiators (17-17-5) got off to another sparkling start, scoring the first goal for the third game in a row against Greenville (23-9-2).

Milo broke in alone and beat Dov Grumet-Morris five-hole at 13:08 in the first for his first goal as a Gladiator and third as a pro. Ian McKenzie and Andy Brandt added assists to help give Gwinnett a 1-0 edge.

Late in the first at 19:48 Milo struck again. This time he hammered home a rebound in front on the powerplay with assist to Paul Flache and Drew Paris to give the Glads a 2-0 lead at the end of one.

Gwinnett kept the offense going in the second. Tim Miller scored for the fourth game in a row on a powerplay breakaway to push the Gwinnett lead to three at 8:23. Pat Galivan picked up one of the assists, while defenseman Sam Roberts had the other in his first game back from a concussion that cost him six games.

Miller now has five goals and two assists in his last four games, and 17 goals on the season.

Greenville cut into the lead at 11:32 of the second on a tally by Marc-Olivier Vallerand, and the score was 3-1 Gladiators after two periods with Gwinnett out-shooting Greenville 33-20.

Defenseman Sam Klassen further cut into the lead just 24 seconds into the third, beating Chris Carrozzi between the wickets to make it a 3-2 game. Gwinnett however was able to hold on, picking up their third win in as many days against the Warriors.

Chris Carrozzi stopped 28 of 30 shots faced for the win, as Gwinnett improved to 13-0-0 when leading after two periods. The Glads went 2-for-4 on the powerplay and held Greenville to 0-for-5.

The Gladiators are next in action Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. as they host the Florida Everblades.
