Season Series: Reading leads 3-1
All-Time Series: Wheeling Leads 38-33-9
The Nailers return to WesBanco Arena tonight after a week long road trip to Georgia and South Carolina. Wheeling will be without All-Star forward ben Street who is currently called up to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. However, leading the way for the Nailers will be forward Nick Petersen who has registered 31 points (14g, 17a), and has scored a goal in six out of the last seven games.
Reading is coming off a tough 4-3 overtime loss at Toledo last night. Reading could be without its top goaltender in Ben Scrivens, and top two scorers Matt Caruana and Ryan Cruthers who are all currently called up to American Hockey League teams.
Transactions
Three players will be making their Nailers debuts tonight. Goaltender Peter Delmas was assigned by the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey league earlier this week, defenseman Brett Dickinson was signed to a free agent contract, and defenseman Trevor Hunt was acquired in a trade this week with the Stockton Thunder for future considerations.
