GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that pitcher Zack Godley has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Daytona while the Cougars have received pitcher Michael Wagner from the Cubs' extended spring training complex in Arizona. Today's roster move maintains an active squad of 25 players as the Cougars continue a six-game homestand this evening against Wisconsin. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. The Cougars lead the Midwest League with a 22-9 record and have won 10 straight games at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark.

Godley (10th round, 2013) becomes the first Cougars player to receive a promotion to Daytona this season. Godley led all Cougars pitchers with 11 appearances and recorded 7 saves, including last night's win over Wisconsin. Wagner (15th round, 2013) made a total of 14 appearances between rookie-level Mesa and Short-A Boise last season, going 1-3 with a 3.77 ERA. In his final year as a collegian at the University of San Diego, Wagner was named a second-team All-American selection and served primarily as a closer. Wagner was college teammates with Cubs prospect Kris Bryant.
