
Cougars gearing up for seven-game homestand

Geneva, IL - Elfstrom Stadium will be bursting at the seams with excitement next weekend as the Kane County Cougars have a dynamite Fourth of July celebration scheduled. Falling in the middle of a seven-game homestand which begins Thursday, June 30, the holiday weekend is filled to the brim with non-stop fun as Myron Noodleman, the ZOOperstars, BirdZerk! and the Jesse White Tumblers will all be stopping by to join in the party. Four fireworks shows as well as a fly over by the Lima Lima flying team on July 4 highlight the patriotic stretch.

Sporting a new name and look, the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays (formerly the Battle Creek Yankees) glide into Geneva for their first and only appearance at Elfstrom Stadium this season, starting a four-game stint. Their will be nothing quiet about the start of this homestand as Cougars ushers will be distributing Dippin' Dots cowbells to the first 2,000 guests to enter the ballpark. Following the game, fans will be allowed to test their speed when they are invited on to the field to RUN THE BASES.

July starts at full tilt Friday evening when the Cougars host the Devil Rays in game two. Perfect for keeping beverages cool on a hot summer's day, Neumann Homes Coolers will be given away to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. With his slick hair and big teeth, MYRON NOODLEMAN will dance his way into fans hearts throughout the ballgame. Myron won't be the only one dancin' the night away either as fans will be wowed by the night's Classic Rock Fireworks show. Fans can keep their feet moving all the way down to the field to cap off their evening in Run the BAses.

Is that a summer storm brewing? No, it's just fans going wild for the FISHER NUTS THUNDER STIXX at the stadium Saturday night! Speaking of going wild, the ZOOperstars are in town. Harry Canary and all his ballpark buddies will entertain fans throughout the game. Prior to the game, Cougars players and coaches will be available on field for the EDY's Autograph session. As part of the Cougars final ballpark campout of the season, Scouts and their families will be honored in a pre-game parade and present the Colors during the National Anthem. Following the games, the sounds of Usher, Jessica Simpson and the Goo Goo Dolls will fill the air, as TOP 40 HITS accompany the night's fireworks show. Topping off the evenings, fans of all ages are welcome to participate in RUN THE BASES. A special treat for campers, Scouts and their families will be invited on to the outfield grass to enjoy a movie under the stars before retiring to the picnic grounds for the evening.

With a late Sunday evening start for the final game of the series, Cougars ushers will be handing out U.S. Cellular Patriotic Cougars caps to the first 2,000 guests at the gates. In honor of the Fourth of July Weekend, the team will be hosting a holiday buffet on the MidAmerica Centerfield Deck. Before the evening's contest, the Cougars will offer fans the perfect opportunity to get their new caps signed in the EDY's Autograph session. BirdZerk is in the house on Sunday, wreaking havoc on visiting players and umpires and making fans roar with laughter throughout the game. A Patriotic Fireworks display will paint the sky red, white and blue before fans are welcome to run the bases.

The Chicago Cubs affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs, are in town for a short two-game set, beginning on Monday, Independence Day. A special holiday Edy's Autograph Session will take place prior to the 6:00 p.m. start. Making an encore appearance over the weekend, the ZOOperstars are set to celebrate the night with the Cougars as the team sports patriotic red, white and blue jerseys and caps. Running, skipping, flipping and flying - the Jesse White Tumblers are scheduled post-game to awe fans with their acrobatics stunts and energizing music and performance. A festive Fourth of July-themed fireworks display will have fans exploding with USA pride as patriotic music rings over Geneva. Putting the exclamation point on their fun-filled holiday, fans are invited to RUN THE BASES to wrap up the day.

Closing out the homestand, the Cougars face the Peoria Chiefs at Noon on Tuesday afternoon. The early start in the summertime means its DAY CAMP DAY at Elfstrom Stadium! Day campers and their counselors are invited on to the field pre-game to meet their favorite Cougars players and coaches in the EDY'S AUTOGRAPH SESSION. Following the day's game, all fans are welcome to RUN THE BASES.
