Cougars Acquire Forward Evan Groening from Brandon Wheat Kings

PRINCE GEORGE BC - General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb has announced today the acquisition of forward Evan Groening (05) from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a 10th-round selection in the 2027 WHL Prospect's Draft.

Evan Groening, 18, hailing from Niverville, Manitoba, currently showcases his skills with the Virden Oil Capitals of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). In just seven games with the Oil Capitals, Groening has notched an impressive nine points, comprising four goals and five assists.

With a history in the WHL that spans 74 games, the 6'1 ‚¬Â³, 176-pound left winger has accumulated nine goals three assists, and 42 penalty minutes. Groening was originally selected in the 9th round, 177th overall, in the WHL Prospect's Draft by the Wheat Kings.
