January 10, 2024 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen have traded defenceman Tyson Galloway to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a second and third round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.
"Tyson has been an integral part of the last five seasons with the Hitmen including the challenges of the COVID period. He contributed to our team with class and terrific leadership and has been instrumental in the growth of our young group through past and in the current season" said Calgary Hitmen Vice President Mike Moore. "We have been privileged to have had Tyson in our organization since we drafted him and wish him success in Swift Current."
Galloway was drafted by the Hitmen the second round (25th overall) in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft and was a fifth-round selection of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The defenceman has played 216 games across five seasons with the Hitmen recording 77 points (15g, 62a). The 20 year-old served as assistant captain for two seasons before being named the franchise's 31st Captain this season.
The Hitmen continue the 2023-24 campaign Friday at home at the Scotiabank Saddledome vs the Spokane Chiefs for a 12:00 p.m. start.
