Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers have acquired an 8th round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft from the Vancouver Giants, in exchange for 06 ¬Â² born defenceman Kolby Gapter (Arvada, CO).
Gapter was drafted by the Tigers in the 2021 US Prospect Draft in the 2nd Round, 25th overall. Kolby is currently playing at the South Alberta Hockey Academy scoring ten points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 17 games.
Tigers Head Coach & General Manager Willie Desjardins says Gapter will do well in Vancouver.
"We want to wish Kolby and his family all the best in Vancouver," he says. "He's been a professional since coming here and with his strong work ethic he will have the opportunity to do well with the Giants."
The Tigers are back in action this Friday and Saturday in a home-at-home series with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, first in Lethbridge on the 12th and then at home on the 13th.
