Medicine Hat, AB - The Tigers welcomed a cross-conference opponent to Co-op Place for the first time this season as they took on the Victoria Royals on Saturday, October 10th.

Heading into Saturday's matchup, the Tigers were ranked second in the WHL power rankings while Victoria was ranked fourth. It's safe to say the anticipation for Saturday's game was felt around the league.

The Royals opened the scoring early as Ludovic Perreault scored his first of the season at 3:20 on the power play.

Medicine Hat did everything they could to generate chances in the first period to tie the game, outshooting their opponent 9-7 through the first 20 minutes.

The Tigers made sure to keep the pressure on until the buzzer sounded and it paid off as Luke Cozens tied the game with just 0:10 remaining in the first period. Yaroslav Bryzgalov sent a cross-ice pass to Cozens who wired a wrist shot into the top right corner for his fourth of the year.

The game was tied 1-1 at the first intermission.

Medicine Hat did everything right in the second period but luck was not on their side. They outshot the Royals by a factor of 22-9 but Victoria was the only team that found the back of the net in the middle frame.

Wyatt Danyleyko was the first on the board in the second period, restoring Victoria's one goal lead off of a unfortunate bounce at 6:21.

Drayden Uhrina doubled up Victoria's lead shortly after with his second of the season at 9:11.

While the Tigers saw four power play chances during the second period and they put plenty of pucks on net, the bounces just weren't going the way they needed to. Wrap arounds, wrist shots, slap shots, digging in the crease, the Royals bent but did not break.

The Tigers even dominated the physical game as Brayden Holberton, Kadon McCann and most of all Denis Pasler laid out some devastating checks in the second period.

Despite their best efforts, the Tigers couldn't find their way past Cole Preslusky in the middle frame, running into a hot goaltender for the second night in a row.

Victoria carried a 3-1 lead into the third period.

The third period continued to go Victoria's way as they tallied three goals to cap off their win.

Caleb Matthews scored on the power play at 5:43 to make it 4-1 with his second of the year.

Filip Novak scored his second of the year at 11:13 on the power play to make it 5-1.

And for Victoria's fifth straight goal, and third straight on the power play, Savin Virk scored at 16:02 to cap off the 6-1 win.
