Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced today the acquisition of 2006-born defensive prospect Kolby Gapter from the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a eighth-round draft pick in 2026.

Gapter, 17, is currently playing U18 prep hockey for South Alberta Hockey Academy in Dunmore, Alta. where he has registered 10 points in 17 games (4G-6A). Last season, the right-shot defenceman had 10 points in 32 games for the same team (2G-8A).

Gapter, who is from Arvada, Colorado, was originally a second-round pick by the Tigers in the 2021 WHL U.S. Prospect Draft.
