Connauton Selected to AHL All-Star Team

Chicago Wolves defenseman KEVIN CONNAUTON has been selected to the Western Conference Team for the 2012 American Hockey League All-Star Classic, which takes place on Jan. 29-30 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. He joins Wolves right wing DARREN HAYDAR, who was named a playing captain on Dec. 16, on the Western Conference squad.

The 21-year-old blueliner shares second on the Wolves and paces AHL defensemen with 9 goals and ranks third on Chicago and tied for 12th among league rear guards with 18 points in 32 games this year. His 9 goals are two shy of matching his 11 markers in 73 outings as a rookie with the Manitoba Moose last year, while his 18 points are five away from matching his 23-point total.

The Edmonton, Alberta, native shared first among Manitoba Moose defensemen last season with 11 goals and ranked third among team blueliners with 23 points in 73 outings during his professional debut. He also posted one goal in six Calder Cup playoff games last year.
