Rob Klinkhammer scored a hat trick and added an assist as the B-Sens defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 5-2 last Wednesday in Glens Falls. Pat Cannone and Corey Locke rounded out the scoring for Binghamton. Jason Akeson and Ben Holmstrom each scored goals for Phantoms, while Blake Kessel earned a pair of assists for Adirondack. Mike McKenna started in goal stopping 31 of 33 shots. His counterpart Michael Leighton stopped 25 of 29 shots.
Friday, Dec 30: Binghamton 4, Syracuse 3 (OT)
Shots: Binghamton 30, Syracuse 35
PP: Binghamton 1 for 7, Syracuse 0 for 5
Mark Borowiecki scored 48 seconds into overtime in Syracuse on Friday night to send the Binghamton Senators home with their third straight victory. Stephane Da Costa, David Dziurzynski and Mike Hoffman each scored goals in regulation for the B-Sens and Derek Grant added a pair of assists, including one on Borowiecki's overtime winner. John Mitchell would score a pair of goals for Syracuse. Maxime Macenauer also scored for the Crunch. Mike McKenna made his seventh straight start in goal for the B-Sens, making 32 saves to improve to 8-9-0 on the season. Iiro Tarkki tended goal for Syracuse turning aside 26 of 30 shots.
Saturday, Dec 31: Syracuse 6, Binghamton 2

PP: Syracuse 2 for 4, Binghamton 0 for 5
The Crunch enacted some revenge against the B-Sens Saturday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, skating away with a 6-2 victory. The game was a rough and tumble affair that saw 169 penalty minutes issued between the two teams before the night was over. Kyle Palmieri (2+13), Patrick Maroon (1+23) and Kyle Cumiskey (0+33) each posted a trio of points for the Crunch. Peter Holland scored a pair of goals and Mark Bell notched the eventual game winner. David Dziurzynski and Rob Klinkhammer each scored for the B-Sens. Bobby Raymond assisted on both B-Sens tallies. Robin Lehner started in goal for Binghamton stopping 24 of 29 shots before being ejected at the 18:18 mark of the second period. Mike McKenna took over goaltending duty stopping 5 of 6. Jeff Deslauriers tended goal for the Crunch stopping 37 of 39 shots.
Record: 14-20-1-1
Standings: The B-Sens are in fifth place in the East Division (30 points).
THIS WEEK...
Wednesday, Jan. 4 @ Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) - 7 p.m.
The Binghamton Senators travel to Glens Falls tonight for a 7 p.m. tilt against the Northeast Division's Phantoms. The game will be the fifth of eight meetings between the two teams. The B-Sens remain undefeated (4-0-0-0) against the Phantoms so far this season and have outscored them 17 to 6.
Adirondack ranks second overall in their division with a record of 17-13-1-1 and 36 points.
Jason Akeson currently leads the Phantoms in points with 24 (nine goals and 15 assists) in 32 games played. Former Binghamton Senator Denis Hamel leads the Phantoms in goals with 11 and is second overall in points with 23.
Fans can listen to the game live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff.
Friday, Jan. 6 vs. Connecticut Whale (New York Rangers) - 7:05 p.m.
The B-Sens will conclude a two-game regular season series with the Connecticut Whale as they welcome them to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday night. The teams last met Dec. 4 in Hartford; a 4-3 B-Sens victory.
The Whale enter the week in first place in the Northeast Division with a record of 19-10-2-3 and 43 points.
Kris Newbury is the Whale scoring leader with 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 25 games played. Mats Zuccarello, who scored a pair of goals against the B-Sens in their Dec. 4 meeting, is tied for third overall in scoring for the Whale with 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists).
Saturday, Jan. 7 vs. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) - 7:05 p.m.
The B-Sens wrap up a week of three games as they host the Rochester Americans on Saturday night. The meeting is the fourth of eight between the two teams this season. The teams last met on Nov. 11 in Rochester, a 3-1 B-Sens loss.
The Amerks are currently holding on to second place in the North Division with a record of 15-13-4-1 and 35 points.
Forward Derek Whitmore leads the team in points with 23 (14 goals, nine assists) in 32 games played. Zack Kassian (2+13) and Mark Voakes (0+33) have each recorded three points against the B-Sens so far this season. Kassian is currently on recall to the Buffalo Sabres.
SENS SNIPPETS...
Forward Corey Locke has been named to the Eastern Conference AHL All-Star team for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic to take place Jan. 29-30 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Locke has two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 15 games played with the B-Sens this season. In 550 career AHL games, the now six-time AHL All-Star has amassed 164 goals and 328 assists for 492 points.
