The Week That Was
Mon., Dec. 26; Albany 3 at Binghamton 8
Coming off a short Holiday break, the Devils fell, 3-0, to the Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Joe Whitney had a goal and two assists and was joined in the goal column by Eric Gelinas and Mike Sislo. In goal, Keith Kinkaid made 16 stops and Timo Pielmeier had eight saves in relief. For Binghamton, Stephane Da Costa had three tallies and Corey Cowick registered a goal and two assists. Mike Hoffman, Corey Locke and Mark Parrish each had a goal and an assist. Mike McKenna made 36 saves for the win.

Tue., Dec. 27; Albany 2 at Connecticut 3
Playing their second game in as many nights, the Devils couldn't overcome the Whale, falling 3-2, at the XL Center. Eric Gelinas registered a pair of points with a goal and an assist and Stephane Veilleux also had a goal. The Whale were led by a pair of tallies by Andre Deveaux and a goal by Kris Newbury, who also had two assists. Keith Kinkaid made 24 saves in his third-straight start. At the other end, Cameron Talbot had 35 stops for the win.

Fri., Dec. 30; Albany 4 vs. Manchester 5 (Overtime)
Vladimir Zharkov and Steve Zalewski helped the Devils mount a comeback, but the Manchester Monarchs claimed a 5-4 overtime win at the Times Union Center. Albany rallied after allowing three unanswered goals in the first with second period goals from Zharkov, Zalewski and Brandon Burlon. The Monarchs lead 4-3 after two, but Zharkov sent the game into overtime midway through the third. Linden Vey netted the game-winning goal at 1:15.

Sat., Dec. 31; Albany 1 at Adirondack 2 (Overtime)
In the third game of the Time Warner Cable Cup, the Phantoms claimed a 2-1 win against the Devils at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack's Mike Testwuide netted the game-winner with 2:42 remaining. The Devils trailed 1-0 up until Vladimir Zharkov evened the score with just 4:49 remaining. Stephen Gionta and Alexander Urbom had the assists. In his fifth-consecutive start, Keith Kinkaid made 19 saves.

Notables
- The Devils have played in 10 overtime games - tied for second most in the AHL. The team is 1-5 in games that end in OT and 2-2 in shootout games.
- After a three-point night against Manchester Friday, Steve Zalewski leads the team with 21 points. He has produced a team-high nine goals to go along with 12 assists, which rank tied for second. Since being acquired on Feb. 9, 2011 in a trade, Zalewski has accumulated 44 points (20g-24a) in 65 games for Albany.
- Vladimir Zharkov's two-goal outing against Manchester Friday was his third multi-point performance in the last nine games. For the year, he has six goals and 12 assists, which is tied for second on the team. Zharkov is the franchise's all-time plus-minus leader with a plus-28 rating in 147 games.
- Rookie defenseman Eric Gelinas has four points (2g-2a) in the last four games. He scored his first even-strength goal of the season at Binghamton Monday and followed with a power-play goal and an assist at Connecticut Tuesday. He added an assist against Manchester Friday. Gelinas leads the team with four power-play goals.
- At Adirondack Saturday, goaltender Jeff Frazee dressed for the first time since his last start on Dec. 19. He has missed the previous four games with an upper-body injury. Frazee, who backed up against the Phantoms, has posted a 5-5-2 record with a 1.91 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in the last 12 games.
