Canadiens Assign Louis Leblanc to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE -Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced tonight that forward Louis Leblanc has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Leblanc, 20, was recalled by Montreal on Monday, November 28th, 2011 and made his National Hockey League debut with the Canadiens on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 in Anaheim against the Ducks. In 14 games with Montreal, the 6-foot, 184-pound forward recorded five points (two goals, three assists), including his first-career NHL goal on Thursday, December 15th, 2011 versus the Philadelphia Flyers. Leblanc also registered 16 shots on goal, 17 hits, a +2 rating and 10 penalty minutes while averaging 9:45 time on ice with the Canadiens.

A native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Leblanc has played in 14 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs this season, posting 10 points (four goals, six assists), 48 shots, a -7 rating and 4 penalty minutes.

Leblanc was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next game is scheduled for Friday, January 6th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. versus the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks) at Copps Coliseum.
