BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced they have acquired RW Jesse Bennefield from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for RW Spencer Carbery and D Louis-Phillippe Lachance.

Bennefield, 26, has seven goals and 13 points in 17 games this season for the Condors Pacific Division rivals. In his third professional season, the Calgary native has 119 points (59g-60a) in 138 games. This season his goal total ranks second on the Thunder, while sitting third on the team in points.

In 2005-06, Bennefield made his professional debut with the San Diego Gulls, notching 30 goals and 60 points in 63 games, with 118 penalty minutes. With the Gulls he was selected to play in the ECHL All- Star Game and won the fastest skater event during the skills competition. Last season, Bennefield was a member of the Colonial Cup Champion Rockford IceHogs, and ranked third on the team in goals (22) while appearing in just 52 games.

"We're happy to acquire Jesse," said Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond. "He can score some goals and help on the power play, and he adds a little depth for us. The deal certainly helps both sides - we were looking for a little more skill and they were looking for a little more grit."

Carbery has 3g-3a with 44 PIM in 18 games for the Condors, while Lachance had 18 PIM in nine games with the Condors.
