Condors 2003-04 schedule released

Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. â The East Coast Hockey League unveiled its schedule this afternoon, which includes the Bakersfield Condors and fellow members of the current West Coast Hockey League. The Condors will open the 2003-2004 campaign on home ice October 17th against the Fresno Falcons.
The ECHL, which will be renamed in the coming weeks, will feature 32 member clubs from coast to coast. Teams will play 72 games during the regular season (36 at home and 36 on the road), with Charlotte (N.C.), Florida, South Carolina, Texas and Trenton from the Eastern Conference making an appearance at Centennial Garden. Of the 36 home dates for Bakersfield, 30 fall on weekends, with 11 each on Friday and Saturday nights. A match against Idaho on St. Patrick's Day highlights the weekday affairs.
Bakersfield will make one trip to the east coast, playing six games against teams from Atlantic City and Trenton, N.J., Reading, Pa., and Roanoke, Va. over an eight-day trip in February. Atlantic City is currently competing in the Kelly Cup Final (the ECHL championship).
The league is split into Eastern and Western Conferences, with two divisions in each. Bakersfield and the other current WCHL clubs will comprise the Western Division of the Western Conference. They will play a total of 60 matches against Western Division opponents, which include the expansion Las Vegas Wranglers, as well as Anchorage, Fresno, Idaho, Long Beach and San Diego.
